What’s the Connection Between Liver Health and Migraine Relief?

As busy moms, we are often so consumed with caring for those around us, that we overlook our own health. The aftermath? Unbalanced hormones, digestive issues, persistent exhaustion, and of course, those crippling migraines that have us clutching our heads in despair. In this blog post, we’ll shed light on an incredible multitasking machine within our bodies that can seriously help - our LIVER.

The Liver: A Multitasking Powerhouse

The liver is a multitasking powerhouse that works diligently all the time to keep us healthy and in balance. Ancient Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine have always revered the liver as crucial for healing. It's said that anyone who understands the liver holds the key to treating a hundred diseases!

A healthy liver orchestrates a symphony of important roles. It filters our blood, makes bile, breaks down nutrients, and, most importantly, disarms and evicts harmful toxins.

Common Culprits of Compromised Liver Health

When we burden our liver with excess stress, harmful substances, or unhealthy diets, it can struggle to keep up.

An overworked liver can inadvertently cause rampant inflammation in your body which may trigger those unwelcome migraines.

These are the usual suspects that may compromise your liver's health:

- Too much alcohol or certain medications.
- High-stress levels and hormonal imbalances.
- Exposure to environmental toxins and pollution.
- Certain autoimmune or inherited liver diseases.
- Consuming chemically-treated food or using chemical household products.
- Obesity due to a diet high in refined oils and sugars.

Nurturing Your Liver for Migraine Relief

With all of these factors at play, it’s important to understand what you can do today to support your liver and, in turn, alleviate migraines.

Here are a few action steps you can implement to nurture your liver for migraine relief:

- Include more bitter foods like kale in your diet to help say goodbye to those annoying migraines!
- Cut back (or better yet, cut out) alcohol.
- Be mindful of medication usage.
- Aim for cleaner, organic food choices.
- Opt for natural beauty and household products.

Remember, every little change counts! You deserve the time and attention it takes to care for yourself.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Debbie Waidl is the Owner of In The Balance Health Coaching LLC, and Founder of The Freedom From Migraines Method™   & The Migraine Freedom Protocol™
She supports busy moms living with Migraines.

Debbie will uncover what is holding them back from migraine freedom so they can live their life pain and symptom free, work productively, spend the time they want with family and friends, and stop missing out on the things they enjoy.

A message from Debbie:
"I was once right where you are now.  100% believing there was NO WAY to end migraines and my only option was to learn how to live with them or find that magic pill that maybe would work for a while.  If anyone told me back then that I could end my pain once and for all, I would have called BS and popped another pill!

Skeptical times 10  was my middle name for sure because when you try it all and everyone tells you they can help you and they don’t.   You stop believing…  you lose HOPE!

I now realize I was approaching my migraines all backward.

I was trying to cover up symptoms versus trying to end my pain."
