Mastering the Art of Sleep

We call it Circadian Responsivityâ„¢ - essentially, it's how your body's internal clock responds to changes in your environment, like light and darkness, to regulate your body's normal functions.

For some, falling asleep feels like solving a complex puzzle, while others find their sleep rudely interrupted in the middle of the night. And then there's that zone where you're just too wired to sleep, no matter how exhausted you are.

But before we dive into solutions for each of these sleep stages, let's have a heart-to-heart. From my experience working with countless amazing women, one common thread keeps popping up - their sleep issues are often tangled up with stress.

That's why our first step is to focus on managing stress through mindfulness practices tailored to you. But if you find yourself still wrestling with your sheets, it might be time to pivot strategies.

Let's break down each sleep stage so you can pinpoint what might be blocking your nighttime zzzs.

If falling asleep is a challenge, you may be facing a melatonin deficiency issue. Melatonin is crucial for regulating our sleep-wake cycle, but many factors like screen time and hormonal imbalances can disrupt its production.

Similarly, issues like yeast overgrowth, magnesium deficiency, or low GABA levels can sabotage your ability to stay asleep all night. Understanding these root causes is key to finding effective solutions.

That's where a holistic approach comes in. While supplements like melatonin or GABA can be supportive, we always encourage exploring natural strategies first, like reducing screen time before bed or getting daily sunlight exposure.

And let's not forget the importance of adrenal health in maintaining a balanced sleep-wake cycle. By rebalancing your day and night rhythms and supporting your adrenals with adaptogens and glandular supplements, you can set the stage for better sleep.
