Shop ’Til You Drop: Can the Latest Pain-Relief Gadgets End Your Suffering?

Hey Ladies, does this scenario sound like you?

You wake up, and there it is - that unwelcomed migraine pain, like an uninvited guest at the worst possible time.

And instantly, you're not just dealing with the ache; you're swamped with the worry of everything you might have to skip out on.

There's that meeting you've been prepping for all week, your kid's recital in the evening, dinner plans with friends...

The list goes on, doesn’t it?

Now, you're in this tight spot, mentally flipping through your day's agenda, trying to figure out what can slide and what absolutely can’t.

So, what's the game plan?

Do you go for the quick-fix with some ice, hoping it'll numb things enough to let you push through?

Maybe you try your essential oils or put your migraine glasses on. Or is it one of those days when you need to pull out the Cefaly or Nerivio to see if that takes the edge off?

You’re juggling all of this while silently asking yourself, "What will I do if the gadget won’t work today?"

The quick-fixes work for now, but. . .

Here's the thing: While we’re making all of these quick decisions on the fly, deep down we understand that just tackling the symptoms really isn't the long-term solution - even if it does keep us going for the moment.

Finding and tackling the root cause is the real deal to ending your migraines for good. The key? Reducing the chronic inflammation wreaking havoc in our bodies.

Yet, when that pain hits, figuring out how to just make it through the day becomes our top priority. How to survive.

Your Quick-fix Options

While quick fixes aren’t the solution, they can help you get through the day while you work on the long-term plan to heal your chronic inflammation.

Here are some of fast remedies that can give you relief in the meantime:

Cefaly: This is a small, portable, battery-powered unit that is worn on the forehead. It functions through transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) targeting the trigeminal nerve, which is associated with migraine.

By emitting precise micro-impulses, the device aims to desensitize the trigeminal nerve and reduce the frequency and intensity of migraine attacks.  Cefaly devices typically cost $445 with a $35 monthly subscription.

TENS Units: These units are also based on electrical stimulation. The device sends small electrical currents through electrodes placed on the skin. This stimulates nerves in the targeted area, potentially providing pain relief.

TENS units can be used on various parts of the body where pain occurs, not exclusively for migraine pains, helping to block pain signals sent to the brain and reduce discomfort. Units cost anywhere between $35-$1000s depending on how fancy you want to get and replacement pads are needed periodically based on your usage.

Ice Hats: Also known as migraine caps, are wearable devices filled with gel that can be frozen. Ice hats cover the entire area around the head and sometimes the neck, providing cooling relief that many find diminishes the severity of migraine symptoms.

When worn, the cold temperature helps to numb the area, reducing inflammation and constricting blood vessels around the head and neck. A typical cap costs around $30.  Most suggest buying 2.

Heat Therapy: Heat therapy can be applied using heated pads, wraps, or even warm baths. Heat helps by relaxing tense muscles and improving blood circulation, which can sometimes alleviate pain caused by tension or head pain in the sinus area.

Heat therapy may provide a soothing, relaxing effect. A heating pad typically costs around $35

Essential Oils: Certain essential oils such as peppermint, lavender, and eucalyptus are thought to have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties.

These oils can be inhaled, applied topically (when diluted with a carrier oil), or added to diffusers.

Peppermint oil, for instance, contains menthol, which can help relax muscles and ease pain. Lavender oil is popular for its stress-relieving and sleep-promoting effects.  Cost of oils vary and can be anywhere between $20-$100 for high grade clean oils.

Acupressure Mats: These mats contain small, spike-like projections. When you lie down on them, the spikes stimulate points on the body that are thought to regulate blood flow and tension.

The stimulation can help release endorphins (natural pain relievers) and improve circulation, potentially easing migraine pain and promoting relaxation. Cost averages around  $75.

Migraine Glasses: Migraine glasses are designed with special lenses that filter out specific wavelengths of light. These particular wavelengths can contribute to the onset and intensity of migraines for some people.

By blocking these wavelengths, migraine glasses can prevent the visual discomfort and sensitivity that often lead to or exacerbate migraines. Cost ranges anywhere from $30-$100s.

Nerivio: Worn around the upper arm, it generates a sequence of low-voltage electrical impulses designed to trigger the body's natural pain relief responses, including the release of endorphins and the modulation of pain pathways.

These impulses interact with the body's pain regulation mechanisms via the peripheral nervous system, aiming to alter the pain signals and responses that lead to migraines. The cost if covered under insurance is usually around $49 for 18 treatments.  If not covered its falls around $89 for 18 treatments.

How to Use Your Migraine Gadgets Smartly

While these gadgets at the cost of around $2000 a year might give you a bit of relief and ease the pain for a while, it's key to remember that they don't solve your migraines for good.

They're more like helpers that target the symptoms when you're in the thick of an attack, rather than solutions that get down to the root of the problem.

If you look at the definition of a gadget it is a small, mechanical, or electronic device that is super practical but also seen as a novelty.

So, as long as you remember these gadgets are novelties and not the ultimate fix to stop the pain from coming back, they can be used smartly as part of your migraine-fighting toolkit.

The Long-Term Solution to Migraine Freedom™

Integrating these gadgets with the deeper approach of the Migraine Freedom™ Protocol can really shift things for you. This method tackles the six key areas that get to the heart of chronic inflammation, the cause of your headaches.

This mix is about understanding that gadgets can help manage the pain for now, but it's the Protocol that aims at digging out the root causes, setting you on a path to more lasting, pain-free days.

It kind of brings everything full circle, doesn't it?

Gadgets for the immediate relief, but the Protocol for the long haul.

Debbie will uncover what is holding them back from migraine freedom so they can live their life pain and symptom free, work productively, spend the time they want with family and friends, and stop missing out on the things they enjoy.

A message from Debbie:
"I was once right where you are now.  100% believing there was NO WAY to end migraines and my only option was to learn how to live with them or find that magic pill that maybe would work for a while.  If anyone told me back then that I could end my pain once and for all, I would have called BS and popped another pill!

Skeptical times 10  was my middle name for sure because when you try it all and everyone tells you they can help you and they don’t.   You stop believing…  you lose HOPE!

I now realize I was approaching my migraines all backward.

I was trying to cover up symptoms versus trying to end my pain."
