My Story

I didn’t realize it at the time but the life I was living was setting me up for future migraines.
I grew up on a diet full of processed foods, low in healthy fats, proteins, and vegetables... and high in sugar and simple carbs.
Exercise wasn’t something I liked and I wasn’t big into sports in school so daily movement for me was hit or miss.
Sleep was not a priority in my life. I liked to stay up late, sleep in, and often pulled long days to get things done.,.. putting sleep last on my priority list.
I lived with daily stressors and at times felt anxious and depressed becuase of them...never stopping to think about the impact to my health and what I could do to have more happiness in my days.
I smoked, drank whenever I wanted to, and thought I was invincible.
After my second child was born, I started noticing I wasn’t feeling my best.
Headaches started creeping into my days more often, my digestion was off a lot, I had body aches, and I was always exhaused. Keep in mind I was only 30 years old.
I thought it was because I had two kids and was working so didn’t do much about it... thinking things would get better as the kids got older.
Within a year I was having daily migraines and felt like crap.
I tried all the things...medications, acupuncture, chiropractors, oils, and diets to try to end my migraines or at least reduce the pain.
But Nothing worked.
I lived.. well functioned... for 10 years in pain.
Missing out on my kid’s lives, missing out on my life, and feeling miserable.
Finally, in March of 2010, I decided I didn’t want to feel this way anymore.
I decided things had to change. That’s when I made my “No Plan B Commitment” to myself and decided to invest in my health.
Living with daily migraines was not an option. Continuing to miss out on my life due to being in excruciating pain was not an option. Taking meds for the rest of my life for migraines (which were NOT working well and harming my body) was not an option. I was all in.
So I invested in myself and created an actual PLAN that was right for ME and MY BODY. And I stuck with it.
And I stopped getting daily migraines. The number of migraines continued to decrease, giving me my life back!!
I can happily say today, while I still every once in a while feel that tightness sneak back into my neck or pressure in my head... cuz we are all humans and make daily choices…. I now have the tools I need to ensure it does not become a full blown migraine...allowing me to live my life on my terms and not let migraines be in control.
